Master Chief Radioman Daniel "Mac" McCormick was born on December 10th 1938 in Stanwood WA.  He enlisted in the Navy in November 1957.  Upon completion of Boot Camp and RM "A" School he was assigned to Naval Communications Station Japan (NCSJ). His next assignment was on the USS Ogden LPD-5 homeported in San Diego CA.  Mac returned to Japan and served on the USS Terrell County LST-1157 and Commander Seventh Fleet Staff embarked on both the USS Oklahoma City CLG-5 and USS Blue Ridge LCC-19 before returning to NCSJ. He then transferred to Commander Carrier Group One Staff embarked on board the USS Enterprise CVN-65.  Once again Mac returned to Japan and NCSJ for his final tour.  He retired in 1988 with over 31 years of honorable Naval service.  After retirement Mac worked for MWR in Yokosuka as Manager of the Fleet Gym.  His final retirement was January 2005.

After retirement he stayed in Yokosuka, traveling in later years to Singapore and Hokkaido.  Mac was a fixture in Yokosuka and will be missed by all that knew him.  He is survived by his beloved wife Junko and countless Shipmates and Friends.
